The mighty great spotted woodpecker
It is September and the drumming has finally begun. Standing at my window staring into the woods, I hear the ocassional drumming. It is only fair if my first post here is a picture of the great spotted woodpecker perched atop the pine tree, guarding her precious pine cones. The bird that got me into birding. I think the 65:24 crop works quite well here.
